LAND ANGLERS

There are tales from those who have traveled wide and extremely far, of fierce furred, sentient beings on Venus-12. I, myself, first came upon them when I was writing Lost Among the Tuna Trees for SOUTHSHIRE PEPPER-POT. Land Anglers can best be described as 2-meter, short-eared rabbits with long bushy tails and an incandescent tuft springing from their brows. Like their distant Earth-bound kin, Land Anglers are vegetarians, grazing on native grasses, grains, roots and shrub buds.

Some of the early settlers of Venus-12 believed the Land Anglers were the children of the Maya Rabbit Scribe and the Moon Goddess who made their way across the cosmos - ancient spirits surfing vision serpents to the clouds.


   They have a righteous sense of territorial imperative, and will fight to the last paw
   any outsider who stakes claim to their homeland.

   And yet, if approached with reason, eloquence, and respect, they will deal with you
    in kind.
