Unicorns are Music;
They're Light & Dance & Starshine.
They are the magick we forget in the moment between
dreaming and wakefulness.

The conventional take on unicorns is that they are pretty horse with horns - according to the cartoon world, they even come in innocuous pastel hues and skip over rainbows. This is wrong as feeding broccoli to a manticore. We've trapped them on carousels and in glass menageries, exotic enough to feed our vain desires to cavort with the rare but, at heart, domestic, even broken. These behorned equines are far from the wild creatures who fought off hound and spear and survived the grim years of the Unicorn Exodus, farther still from the proud Passions racing until the land rolls with hoof-thunder and the fiercely tender hinds filling Rookeries with song.

Eastern and Western, old and new, the following are among the truest representations of these noble monoceres I have found.
